Review of Bridesmaids (2011) by Petros T — 29 Feb 2016
The first half is an enjoyable little comedy: the laugh-out-loud moments are few and far between but the honesty of the script and Wiig's realistic performance keep you going. The second half was way more dramatic than I expected and it also was a little too heavy on the compromises and improbabilities.
It basically reached a point where it tried to handle more than it could take. The saving grace is definitely Wiig's acting, and McCarthy was very enjoyable as well. It's well meaning but flawed despite its potential.
