Review of Brideshead Revisited (2008) by Maria B — 27 Aug 2008
Sadly, I have to agree with the critics this time: this adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's great novel is unconvincing and flat. The actors are too young/inexperienced to carry the weight of the roles. The scenery, costumes, and music are beautiful, however, and Emma Thompson gives a strong performance.
This might be worth a DVD rental, but it's not worth the price of a movie ticket.
