What a disappointment! Rent the miniseries...the characters are clearer, the house is more visible, the themes more expertly woven through the script. This film was skimpy. Characters (Charles and Julia, especially) lacked depth. The younger sister gets NO time in this film.
I did enjoy Emma Thompson and the actor who played Sebastian. And, I loved the shots of Venice.
