Review of Brideshead Revisited (2008) by Nancy R — 23 Aug 2008
It's like the TV show from the early 80's. I really liked it. It's deep; makes you think about religion, homosexuality, family, etc.
Don't look for a happy ending. All the characters have too many problems, but the angle is really from Charles view.
The actors were all fabulous;the scenery was beautiful. There were a few scenes that looked like Monet paintings.
It was a little slow, granted, but you expect that with foreign movies. It gives you time to digest what is happening in the plot.
The film did take a few liberities, such as having a carnival in Venice in the summer! I don't think so.
