Review of Brideshead Revisited (2008) by Geof J — 03 Oct 2008
Dull, irritating and needless 'retelling' of a much-loved, classic novel and seminal television series. This is revisionist, derivative film-making which lifts wholesale from superior, similarly themed works, The Talented Mr Ripley and Wings of a Dove, and which simultaneously feels both endless and as though it's galloping through this stately narrative.
Never see it.
