Enjoyable, beautifully shot, but a little slow after the trip to Venice. Emma Thompson and Ben Wishaw are both brilliant and a solid performance from Matthew Goode as Charles Ryder. Having neither read the book or seen the TV series I cannot offer a comparison but I felt the direction was lacking in some parts, with no sense of the film going anyway or moving forward.
