Beautiful to look at period drama, great costumes, sets etc. But I was disappointed considering the cast, the acting didn't really convey very much emotion at all. I just didn't believe at all that any of the characters were in love.
The plot seemed to move too fast and the religious undertones weren't very interesting. should have been done by Merchant Ivory.
