Review of Brideshead Revisited (2008) by Stewart S — 03 Nov 2008
Wonderfully evocative and an enticing foray into the careless decadence of the rich. It is about 30 mins too long but the storytelling and the very straitened English romance make this very engaging. Ben Whishaw steals the show with a provocative, louche and yet completely controlled performance.
The locations are sublime and the religious theme makes for some intriguing complications. A beautiful trip into the romantic past.
