Review of Brideshead Revisited (2008) by Sydney P — 15 Dec 2008
Still remember Anthony Andrews' iconic teddy bear Aloysius and how Jeremy Irons changed our way of wearing a sweater? this is how profound, among many other things, BRIDESHEAD REVISTED the TV mini-series in the 1980s had been, despite the brief but commanding appearance of Emma Thompson, the latest version of Brideshead is hardly worth revisiting at all, partly due to the unnecessarily tedious religious mono-overtone that really dragged down the subtleties of one of Evelyn Waugh's finest novels, in face with the superb cast and superior performances as offered by the previous Granada Television production, everybody appearing here in this new adaptation will easily be seen as a miscast (5/12/2008).
