Review of Brideshead Revisited (2008) by Les E — 16 Jan 2009
A beautifully crafted story of love, forbidden love and what religion allows. Whishaw is brilliant and we really should see more of him. The movie spans several very different times in the life of Charles Ryder and all flow nicely one into the other.
Each location is very grand but treated well by the cinematography so they don't overshadow the story. Perhaps should have been longer to do justice to the full story but for a movie it was just right.
