Review of Brideshead Revisited (2008) by Lau W — 24 Mar 2009

Great performances for a movie that promised more than it delivered. Beautifully shot in a magnificent setting it shows us a glimpse of a peculiar friendship and the repercussions religious oppression has on men. I just wish it would have gone a little deeper and explored a little more of the complex story.

As usual Emma Thompson was superb and so were the two male leads.

Worth watching and not as provocative as I would have wanted it to be...or more so...as it should have been to showcase this issue properly.
