Review of Brideshead Revisited (2008) by Gabriel K — 09 Jul 2010
I am definitely not big on period dramas, yet this one somehow managed to keep my interest to the very end making the experience quite rewarding. I guess you can say that if you have a great story and acting/directing behind it, the results can usually exceed your expectations.
I especially loved the way the emotional love triangle between the main characters was presented here, without any unneeded over the top situations but rather leaving a lot to your imagination. Emma Thompson in a small supporting role, once again demonstrates why she is probably one of the greatest living actors from Great Britain.
