(SPOILER ALERT) I enjoyed it as a standalone, but it really is a different "take" on the book, it really flattens the story into one central thread around the impact on Sebastian of Charles Ryder's relationship with Julia.
..it all hinnges on a kiss that never happened in the book! So, read the book, see the mini series, and this is a different 'interpretation'.
