Review of Brideshead Revisited (2008) by Robert C — 22 Jan 2009
Beautiful costuming and cinematography cannot save this movie from its one-dimensional interpretation of the novel. I watched it upon recommendation of a friend who said the movie was about relationships and conflict created by a difference in religious beliefs.
The theme was there; the dialogue was sparse, limited, and treated the subject as a fifth grader would learn it in class. Save yourself the time and watch something else.
