Review of Bride Wars (2015) by Jocey D — 18 Aug 2010
The main thing I learnt from this film was to never mess with a girls wedding, oh and yeah the whole friendship thing.
This is a very girly film. If there had been more comedy and less about trying to make us feel all emotional about the characters friendship I probably would have enjoyed this a lot more. Obviously it's aimed at women, but the male audience could have enjoyed this too had it been more funny. In fact they were trying so hard to appeal to the female audience that they even had to throw in a pretty predictable romance story at the end.
Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway played their parts reasonably well, though it could be argued that we've seen their characters and their differences a thousand times before.
This was quite an entertaining film, and the message about friendship at the end was quite touching, but it lacked a lot and definitely could have done with a bit more comedy, just to keep you interested for a little bit longer.
