Review of Bride Wars (2009) by Jeff S — 04 Dec 2011
When the back of the case read "Rivals Last Summer's Sex and the City", my already profound reservations took a further massive nosedive. But, I still gave Bride Wars a shot, and I'm glad I did.
I mean, YA, Kate Hudson came across more Goldie Hawn than "Liv", and YA, the gags really fell on deaf ears at certain points, and YA!, that whole split-up there at the end was way too random and scripted, but it was still an enjoyable experience that pitted friend against friend, dvd homage against bachelorette party, orange skin vs.
blue hair.. well, you get the picture. The acting was well done, the film wasn't too long nor too short, and everything was "just right". It was a enlightening journey, and ultimately, by the end, I realized I'd had a surprisingly good time along the way.
