Review of Bride Wars (2009) by Lisa K — 24 Aug 2012
A series of "bridezilla" stereotypes, this film presents nothing redeeming about its main characters, who are selfish, cruel and vain. As someone who has never understood the idealization of the wedding ritual, this was at times actually painful to sit through.
Attempts at humor fall flat, and by the film's predictable conclusion, I couldn't have cared less what happened to the two brides. Hathaway and Hudson are both talented actresses, but no amount of acting talent could come close to saving this horror show.
