Review of Bride Wars (2009) by Noelhyn Mae A — 06 Aug 2013
A chaotic kind of fiLm though toLerabLe at some point, featuring women's other side -fooLishLy exaggerated form of wedding obsessions, crab mentaLity: "We aLL Like to see our friends get ahead, but not too far ahead", competitive: "If I can't have it, no one can have it", and vindictive sense- in a cLassy bitchy comicaL way!
Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson's characters (Emma and OLivia) highLy pLaced a speciaL and excessive emphasis on the aggressive, assertive, domineering, overbearing, strong-minded, spitefuL, hostiLe, direct, bLunt, candid, obnoxious, thick-skinned, hard-headed, vicious, dogmatic, competent, pushy, Loud-mouthed, independent, stubborn, demanding, manipuLative, egoistic, driven, achieving, overwheLming, threatening, scary, ambitious, tough, brassy, boisterous and turbuLent quaLities of a bitch. It takes shit from no one as you may not Like her, but you cannot ignore her.
The pLot is the combination of a streak of humor, a strain of meLanchoLy and a vein of stubbornness, which everyone wouLd take pLeasure and satisfaction from.
Thus, the most interesting part is how it gives extra weight on the importance, and the better, greater, or otherwise different from what is usuaL quaLity of Friendship, that it isn't one big thing rather a miLLion things. As a good friend knows aLL your best stories, a best friend has Lived them with you!
