Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Andy C — 27 Jan 2010
Hollywoods first ever decent sequal, the bride of frankesiten intorduces to another classic movie monster frankestens bride with the huge black hair do with a white stripes. Unlike the orginal film james wale injected more of his presonality into this film with a mixture his wit and comdeic sense and his theratre metor the wacky Ernest Thesiger (as Dr.
Pretorius). Thesiger is just funny to wacht as proably films best made sicentist with lines like " cigars are my only weakness". There are many repriseals in this film form the original cast inculding the Imortal Borris Karloff as the monster who in this film has alot more depth and can talk.
The way Karloff poytrays the monster make the viewer feel sorry for him with lines like " alone ..bad, friend ..good". Colin clive repsrial as herny farnkestein is meroble as well , what make this screen apperance sad is the fact he would die a few years later.
100/100 an enduring masterpeice.
