Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Russell G — 07 Dec 2011
I appreciated how the movie ties into the original Frankenstein movie by picking up right where the last one left off making a seamless transition. The monster gains more depth in this film, which is a good thing, and although the motives to create the bride were a little forced, it works well enough.
The scene with the blind man is actually quite heartwarming and is an iconic movie moment to remember. The finale is an unexpected magical moment that is both sad and heartfelt. Overall this movie may be more effective than its' predecessor.
