It's creepy fun. Campy? Yes. Serious? No. I don't care, and neither does anyone else it seems. Were not supposed to take it seriously, therefore the fun really starts. Jennifer Tilly stars as the gothic, but incredibly sexy girlfriend of Chucky.
Once she becomes a doll, they must use an innocent couple to get across the map to make them human again. The director seems to know what he is doing, and he does it well. The spooky atmoshpere, shadows, and lighting make it feel like an old fashioned horror film.
Funny, dark, and always enjoyable.
