Review of Bride of Chucky (1998) by X L — 22 Aug 2009
Giving Chucky a bride was a great idea because it works on two levels. First it creates a movie which is somewhat a spoof of the Bride of Frankenstein, which makes the movie a horror comedy, and mimics that it is in the family of Universal Monsters.
Second, it adds for something different to the other sequels of Chucky films. The movie has great creation of a cool new puppet, Chucky's bride and some great horror and comedy moments throughout, making it a true horror comedy.
The movie has great special effects and has an original look compared to the other films. A great transition to seeing the other side of Chucky, and it does work with the other films as well.
