Review of Bride of Chucky (1998) by Tyler C — 10 Aug 2012
This fourth instalment in the 'Child's Play' franchise offers a wonderful return to form for possessed Good Guy doll Chucky. The film lets the blood splatter just as well as its predecessors, but really ups the ante with an effective use of black humour; never has the killer doll has so many funny one-liners. Jennifer Tilly is ideally cast as Chucky's girlfriend Tiffany and, thankfully, the pair take centre stage, as the adolescent lovers of the piece are less of a successful plot point. Refreshing and lots of fun.
Followed by 'Seed of Chucky' (2004).
