Review of Bride Flight (2008) by Lawrence G — 05 Dec 2011
This film has that nostalgic epic feel and is very well made. Solid directing, acting and production. It is the story of three dutch women who fly to New Zealand to meet their husbands to be and start a new life.
Beautiful scenery, beautiful people and great footage make it pleasant to watch. There is real drama brought about by life's hardships specially true for those starting life in a new continent. My only wish is that the movie would have been a little more subtle and had left a little more for the viewer to think through.
As it progresses, the drama is spelled out in every detail and it becomes a bit like a very well made soap opera. Still, an enjoyable movie if you can handle the overly sentimental tone.
