Review of Bride & Prejudice (2004) by Philippa W — 18 Feb 2009
An exuberant, flashy, mismatched (many of the 'singing' scenes are out of place and...weird), loosely adapted version of Jane Austen's famous novel. Despite the flaws, and drawing from the novel, its intriguing plot, exotic 'bollywood' feel and dynamic Indian superstar Rai's portrayl of Elizabeth results in what is a compulsively watchable musical.
