Review of Brick Mansions (2014) by David G — 15 Jul 2014
I don't think I've ever seen a movie go more off the rails by the end than in this one. Sure the editing isn't great in the parkour action scenes and it doesn't have near enough parkour, but overall it wasn't bad up until about the last six to seven minutes.
In the end they completely ruin any momentum it had going and make it completely illogical. It's like some "genius" decided to Hollywood it up and give it the fluffiest of fluffiest endings ever. I've seen Disney movies end more grittier than this piece of crap.
Do not waste money on this movie. Throughout the whole movie I was liking the action and cheesiest but there is no redeeming quality after that ending. This movie shows exactly whats wrong with Hollywood. Luc Besson(the guy who made great movies like Leon The Professional) has degraded into a shell of his former self. He directs mediocre movies like The Family and produces even worst movies like this one.
