Review of Brick Mansions (2014) by Ian G — 18 Jul 2014
For some people, Brick Mansions is going to be remembered as one of the final film roles of Paul Walker that he managed to complete before his untimely death back in 2013, others will note the blending of the basic premise of Robocop, or at least the idea of corrupt Detroit offiicals battling for the right to develop the slums of their city into a new megopolis with the downtrodden battling back.
No real new ideas here but Brick Mansions again brings David Belle to the forefront, the lead star of the D13 series featured at Midnight Madness, and some of the great stunt work he provides through the proceedings.
By no means Tolstoy and flies by at just under an hour and a half, meant strictly for escapist entertainment and functions as such.
