Review of Brick Lane (2007) by Jenny P — 31 May 2008
Despite the beautiful cinematography the film fails to capture the spirit of the book, with the plot and character development being pretty weak. The many themes contained within the book are given a cursory treatment or glossed over altogether, which is unsurprising given that it is packed into a standard 1hr 30min film - a little more time and this could have a been a much better film.
