Review of Brick (2006) by Anthony F — 06 May 2010
The first 10 minutes or so I kept saying to myself, "Are these high school kids going to talk like this the entire movie?" The answer is yes, but if you can get over the fact that no high-school kids would ever sound or act like 1940 detectives then this is a decent indy film experience.
I think it was about the half way mark where I finally accepted this and just enjoyed the film for what it was. Of course this was done on purpose by Director Rian Johnson, but I didn't really find it amusing or really that funny, so for me it ended up as a major distraction.
