Review of Brick (2006) by Luke M — 28 Oct 2011
Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays a clever high school kid who makes it his life's mission to investigate the death of his junky ex-girlfriend.
In the noir spirit of "Alpha Dog", Rian Johnson captures the POV of small time drug dealers in today's Californian High School environment.
The combination of poor sound quality and pseudo street jargon make for some head scratching, but the tone and style is fresh and vibrant... well worth the watch.
Brendan: "I don't want you to come kicking in my homeroom door because of something I didn't do.".
