Review of Breathless (2009) by Ben W — 22 Sep 2008
So this is a movie I was terribly skeptical of even though I knew I should see it, and as it turns out I loved it. this is one of the greatest french films of all time. the referential style tries to harken back to the time when movies were pure and good and in doing so has created something entirely new and interesting (hence, the french new wave moniker). This is one of the funniest and most interesting movies out there. excellent dialog, characters, and plot. this is also a good segue for americans to jump into foreign films, french films, and new wave since it deals with an american girl living in paris which makes for good down moments where there is some english dialog.
All that, and patricia reminds me of my girlfriend. (she'll be glad to know that.).
