Jean-Luc Godard's crime drama is more than just a crime drama. The film's two lead characters are full of depth and refuse to find easy ways out of things. This is the big link to "Breathless"' genius: and it shows at its strongest when Patricia has a drastic decision to make.
Genuine and full of truth, "Breathless" is for the moviegoer who appreciates romance at its most brutally honest.
