Review of Breathless (2009) by Ivan C — 02 Jan 2010
This was the first GODARD film that I viewed in its entirety and it was a ride. The 'jump start' technique help to loose a linear quality to the film and can be startling at first. Soon, I was enjoying the lack of solid timing and was enjoying the story unfolding.
I've seen JEAN SEBERG in her American films PAINT YOUR WAGON [a 10 in my book] and the original AIRPORT with the delicious BURT LANCASTER. BREATHLESS is an appropriate title because I had ran a marathon by the end but very pleased with my accomplishment.
