Review of Breathless (2009) by Curtis R — 16 Aug 2010
Jean-Luc Godard's new wave French Classic about a French hood named Michel played wonderfully by Jean-Paul Belmondo in his world famous breakout role, who dresses and acts cool much like his hero Bogart.
Things go south early for the young Frenchmen when he kills a cop and goes on the run, hiding out with his beautiful American student journalist girlfriend played by Jean Seberg. This film moves quickly to the sad even if predictable climax.
A true French classic. Don't waste your time with the 1983 Americanized remake with Richard Gere playing the Belmondo style lead character.
