Review of Breathless (2009) by Kimberley F — 19 Mar 2011
This is supposed to be a classic film, with grand reviews, yet I wasnâ??t too keen on it. I adore the bilingualism of it & the setting in Paris, & I also adore Jean Sebergâ??s wardrobe, but the good list pretty much ends there.
Scenes were a bit too jumpy for a classic film noire, which made it less old school classy. Jean Seberg is always a favorite, especially her cute accent while speaking French. On the other hand, Jean-Paul Bernardoâ??s character was a repugnant pig & his performance is so over the top that it couldnâ??t captivate the audience.
The storyline was simple & classic, however it got quite boring at many points.
