Review of Breathless (1983) by Vladimir V — 30 May 2008
It's one of those, I understand it's good, I like the style, I like the writing, I like the new wave, BUT..I was a little disconnected and couldn't click with it. I was, however, cleaning my room when I watched most of it, and then the other half was me watching it then my mom came in and I know she was just like "what is ths movie!" and it made it awkward..
So, to do it justice, I think I should watch it again, but I still was a litte, "ok, it's sooo abstract..alright.".
But I did get very excited at the end, the "degeulasse" scene b/c in one of my fav movies "The Squid and the Whale" he says that and I never understood it so I just watched it again and Bernard says "remember it was from Godard's 'A bout de Souffle'" and I just like freaked out..haha..it was kindof exciting..
