Review of Breathless (1960) by Felipe C — 02 Jan 2014
Film is subjective. It's qualitative, not quantitative, measured on the appeal of each person. Going forth on that, I'm not a big fan on French New Wave films but this movie is probably the exception.
Jean Luc Godard did amazing job filming this movie, which set the standard for film characters for years to come. There is a deeper mean that lies within even though our anti-hero is a loveable pain in the arse.
The dialogue is witty and the movie turns out to be really artistic and surprisingly bearable. I ended up enjoying this film and recommend it to people who love movies. If this is your common movie audience member, give it a try and maybe you might like it.
If you're the one that has pure disdain over New Wave films, don't bother.
