Review of Breathing (2011) by Alan W — 24 Oct 2011
An industrial and urban landscape, a cold and detached observational style and a realistic and unsentimental approach in the writing all work in unison to make this portrait of a young man's struggle to get his life back together again via working in a mortuary a rather fascinating watch.
Fairly arty (in composition and pacing) and infused with a typically European indie spirit, this is a solid film that promises much and mostly deliver.
