Review of Breaking the Waves (2014) by Chris S — 03 Sep 2008
The Church's elders in the film have no right to judge Bess. Only God can judge her and all of us, and I think He can forgive her for her actions. The only people who truly care for Bess are her sister-in-law and the doctor.
This depressing film is another masterpiece from Lars Von Trier, and Emily Watson does a great performance even though her character can be very annoying most of the time as she is too obsessed and devoted.
This is definitely the weakest of Lars Von Trier's Golden Heart trilogy.
