Review of Breaking the Waves (2014) by Irvin C — 20 Sep 2009
This is another one of those movies which I can't believe I haven't seen until now. Von Trier is a wildly divisive director but you can't say he's uninteresting. I can definitely see why Emily Watson broke out in a big way with this film.
Her performance carries the film, so emotionally raw and naked (sometimes literally too) and very bravel. Film's not perfect but it's one of Von Trier's best works.
