Review of Breaking the Waves (1996) by Ice R — 22 Aug 2009
The most unnerving full-length drama of Lars Von Trier I've watched to date. I honestly think it could have been edited down way more but Emily Watson's acting in the slow, unnecessary bits was still stellar.
Recommend watching the other two in his trilogy of films concerning self-sacrificing women which would be Dancer in the Dark and Dogville. It makes so much sense to me now why he closed the trilogy with Dogville.
..god I loved that movie.
