Review of Breaking the Waves (1996) by Elise M — 21 Oct 2010
A masterpiece. Having seen this I have to see everything Lars Von Trier has ever done. This was excellent in many ways. The acting was superb, the story was completely original and gripping, the grainy colours were perfect for the setting, and the hand held camerawork worked surprisingly well.
No stone was left unturned, except those which should not be. An excellent film.
