Review of Breaking Away (1979) by Jordan T — 14 Jan 2011
A terrific tale of youths trying to find their place in society, growing up in rural Indiana. Impressively, the movie holds up some 32 years later and still carries a message relevant to today's youth culture.
Dennis Quaid and Jackie Earle Haley are barely recognizable as they are so young, yet give such terrific performances. The dad was slightly underwritten, but this is from the perspective of the youths, and he is still a wonderful character.
