Review of Breaking and Entering (2006) by Josh G — 12 Oct 2010
'Breaking and Entering' Is basically about Set in a blighted, inner-city neighborhood of London, Breaking and Entering examines an affair which unfolds between a successful British landscape architect and Amira, a Bosnian woman-the mother of a troubled teen son-who was widowed by the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The movie itself was not that good of the film with a massive hole missing from the storyline/plot and the sight of the genre of Romance/Drama /Thriller which the movie kind of ruined itself and the elements. The is also trying to show a mum saving her child from jail sentence that he tried to nick thinks an Jude Law Character having an affair (Shock Horror) and get black mailed for it.
The movie was somewhat emotionally & heartbreaking, but mostly the movie was a dull, stupid, not great, awful, boring, crap and unbelievable sexiest film that should Jude law being a man-slag and going with every tom, dick and harry he really didn't show anything new or shocking it was utter shit and for director Anthony Minghella what was he thinking he is a great director and made many great film and sadly he died 18th march 2008 (RIP) and this was his last film which is really awful and is sad, but he tried his best, but couldn't save this un-charming, non-chemistry or any interest to keep you glued to the movie so I feel bad for them (as in cast and director), while this movie was a massive flop on DVD and Box office not many people have seen and shouldn't I think fans of the director and cast member would be pissed off, why they join or did this un-seen terrible movie.
The movie was made on a budget of a £6 Million (As it was a made British film) and the film worldwide gross at the box office was £8,974,829 which did pass it budget, but it was a huge disappointed and didn't do well on its DVD sales or rentals, so which the film was a massive flop on DVD and box office result. The movie was largely received negative review from critics and audiences alike, while fans of casts or director were mostly mixed to negative towards the film. The movie has been distributed MGM, The Weinstein Company (North and South of American), Miramax Films (Europe and Worldwide) & Alliance Films (Britain).
The cast were pretty good, but some were just average, while having a decent cast line-up by; Robin Wright Penn (witty & sadness), Vera Farmiga (Is brilliant and sexy), Juliette Binoche (Is great with talent), Rafi Gavron(talent with Bad & Good boy Image), Martin Freeman & even know it was a small cameo/little role for Ed Westwick he was fanatics and am a big fan of his role in Gossip Girl as 'Chuck Bass', while Jude Law was average and not very good in the movie (Like and I don't like his work his either good or not good in films he does not try very hard, he things he's a man-candy). The movie has some success with the acting of most of the cast and is no shock that Jude Law has affair with all-sorts (as he does that in his personal life).
Overall Trailer makes the film look really good, but it really isn't, the cast are really and director is on top form, but this movie is not. This was a huge failure and is marked as a un-talented plot/storyline while begging stupid and idiotic film. The movie is probable for the fans of director and cast member alike, but even I think they won't like it. The film can be alright at times and have some hard lesson in life and understanding towards crime, as the director and cast member are on bored but the film isn't so a very dull last film for director Anthony Minghella sadly.
