Review of Breakfast with Scot (2007) by Ryan B — 27 Aug 2009
Noah Bernett steals the show as the sensitive, effeminate and confused Scot in this tale of a gay couple whose lives are changed upon the arrival of the young boy. His portrayal as the troubled nephew, filled with plenty of pathos and appeal, is delightfully endearing and in stark contrast to that of the two older leads who, while adequate and assured, seems bereft of chemistry.
Nevertheless, the movie presents an interesting take on gay life, coming out and self-acceptance. It is charming, if not a little muddled in its execution.
