Review of Breakfast on Pluto (2005) by Robyn. R — 30 Aug 2008
A lovely piece of work concerning the life and times of Patricia Kitten Braden, a very unserious transwoman during one of Ireland's most serious times. Cillian Murphy is brilliant as Kitten, through murder attempts, deaths, arrests, and her own airy fantasies.
He is also fantastically gorgeous as Kitten, I must say. The rest of the cast is solid, and the film ends on one of my favorite themes- self-made families. The episodic nature of the film may make it seem long, but I was delighted to see there was more of the movie left whenever I saw the time.
