Terrible, often cringe-worthy film of Vonnegut's book that completely misses the point. Rudolph mistakes over-the-top goofiness for satire and replaces the book's brilliant, hard-hitting criticism of American culture with a too-literal story adaptation, bad mugging, and a quasi-happy ending.
Finney is well cast as Kilgore Trout, though.
