Review of Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) by Hassan I — 27 Apr 2012
A funny, charming, and delightful comedy that features great performances, a fine script, and brilliant music. Audrey Hepburn delivers a fantastic performance as a wealthy socialite who likes to live a free and open life.
Hepburn has stunning screen presence both because of her looks and character. George Peppard is very good as an aspiring writer. Peppard is undeniably handsome and convincing in his role. The script, which is based off a novel, plays a major part in making this film very charming and likable.
Even the musical score takes it to another level. However, in spite of all this, Blake Edward's film is flawed. This film isn't very long, yet it seems highly dragging. The subject matter suddenly becomes boring and the plot vaguely predictable as one watches this.
If the filmmakers worked on this more devotedly, the film could have been much better. Nevertheless, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is still recommended for Audrey Hepburn fans and those who like romantic comedies.
