Review of Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) by David L — 31 May 2014
Breakfast at Tiffany's is a sophisticated film in every regard except for the story and it is in many aspects ahead of its time, the approach is unfortunately not very cinematic and the performances are inspired.
The movie depends entirely on Audrey Hepburn who is luminous and loveable as ever, filling the screen with joy. It is a solid, if not a classic picture, the one which is propelled by Hepburn's performance and cinematography, but ruined by standard story and direction.
