Review of Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) by Senor C — 28 Jan 2012
Breakfast @ Tiffany's is classic date movie dysfunction. Fuck Pretty Woman! This movie has it in spades. Audrey Hepburn is 100% style as a call girl looking for money & status/ George Peppard is the broke struggling writer that is a bit of a whore himself.
They are both maladjusted but somehow love finds a way. Maybe a little too easy in the end but what the fuck. What precedes it has a lot of charms even if Mickey Rooney is stereotypical Asian. Pulled @ my heart @ the end but don't get me wrong that Im some sort of a big pussy to fall for these romantic trappings.
I was teary eyed when Hepburn threw her cat to the alley & then went back looking for it. Not when she & Peppard finally found love.
